2017 Kia Rio has tough task to beat the competition in sub-compact category. Korean producer made upgrades so it could become more attractive to customers.


2017 Kia Rio Interior and Exterior

2017 Kia Rio is a fourth generation of this model available in both five door hatchback and four door sedan versions. It has a very good construction. It uses LED lighting technology for headlights and tail lamps. Ventilated disc brakes are used to reduce the stopping range of car after brakes are applied. Producer is supposed to come out with three variations – LX, EX and SX. Among these three, LX is the base model, where the high end SX is the top with some special inclusions. But on the exterior part, design is more or less unchanged. Apart from the usual colors (black, red, silver and white), two new brightened color urban blue and digital yellow will be offered. The subcompact car will be the perfect one for the populated city with its compressed body shape and fuel efficiency. This model is designed more stylish with a change of fascia and bumper. Chrome Tiger Nose grille with angular headlights, redesigned fog lights and tail lights, horizontal lines in the lower part of the bumper, new rear reflectors, 15 inch aluminum wheels with an option of 17 inch, satin finish exterior will make the car more dynamic. LED has been used for the lights. 2017 Kia Rio will have a widened look for its modern design concept. Rio’s SX trim will have power sunroof with a sportier suspension.


2017 Kia Rio Engine

 2017 Kia Rio model will carry 1.6 liter four cylinder engines with direct injection. It will be with standard six speed manual transmission on sedan and six speed auto on the hatchback. The engine will produce 138hp and 123 lb-ft of torque. The manual gear box used in the previous model can be changed with standard automatic gearbox in this new version. The estimated top speed of the car is 105mph and it will accelerate 0 to 65mph in 9.5 seconds. 2017 Kia Rio will compete with 2017 Hyundai Accent, 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage, 2017 Chevrolet Sonic, Ford Fiesta and 2017 Toyota Yaris, which are 5 door hatchback and 4 door sedan models.



2017 Kia Rio Release Date and Price

2017 Kia Rio will be released by the end of this year. Expected price range is starting from 14,000 USD to 19,000 USD depending upon trim and optional packages, which is very appealing for this kind of car.
