2016 Mazda MX-5 is a romantic breathtaking elegant two-seater supported with Skyactiv fuel-efficiency technologies. It goes on sale this summer.

2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata REDESIGN

2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata represents a combination of aggressive shaped design and elegance. You can see that many details are borrowed from producers latest incorporated ‘Kodo’ design philosophy. Miata loses some of its cuteness for a more curved, muscular tone. It is also 3 inches shorter in overall length and a half-inch wider. Based on the images, it looks like the front uprights are now aluminum. That saves weight out in the corners, which is critical.

MX-5 interior is designed to have more specious cabin. Seating is kept low and cozy. But there is a wide separator between the driver and passenger seats. Dashboard appears in cockpit style, and instrumental panel is designed in shelves shape to keep the cabin look clean. Given the fact that it comes into the category of premium sports cars, Mazda is expected to put in a best-in-class steering. It is has been talked a lot already about its electric-power-steering.

2016 Mazda MX-5 ENGINE

Miatas engines will fluctuate depending on part of the world.  It remains the same from previous versions. The engine is powered by a 167-hp and 150 lb-ft of torque, 2.0-liter four-cylinder direct-injection engine with a five- or six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic. This engine will deliver less horsepower but has much better fuel economy.
Second engine option for the rest of the world is 1.5-liter four-cylinder. Rear-wheel drive and 6-speed manual transmission will be standard, while an automatic will be optional. This coupe has never been the car for straight-line performance. It has always been a sport car that you don’t have to break low and speed limits to enjoy.

2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata Price and Release Date

Arrival on the market is planned for spring 2015—just in time to plan for a long summer of top-down driving. Price will be higher than the current one, but not much. Current price tag of $25,000 could go up to $30,000 max, but more likely it will stay just under $28,000. More polarizing exterior design, new technology and manufacturing features may escalate base price. Tough competition can be seen in BMW Z4, Subaru BRZ and Audi TT.
